Have ordered a DS3 1.6HDi 110hp Thorium grey with Carmen red roof and can't wait for delivery in 6 to 8 weeks. I have in the interim come across a number of websites advertising plug-in diesel tuning, such as energytuning.co.uk.
Does anyone know if their claims for improved performance and economy (in tandem depending on settings and the way car is driven) are true? Are there any major drawbacks? For instance, they say that the system is velcro attached and easy to remove prior to servicing yet state that the insurance company must be informed.
Finally, does anyone know if remapping is a better option, as I believe that this can only be done with the manufacturer's consent?

I forgot to add that I have also asked the Service Manager at the Citroen dealership to enquire into the possibility of resetting the program so that the running lights, one of the main features of this car, stay on at all times, even when the main beams come on after dark.
Has anyone looked into this already? If not I will keep you posted when I get an answer. |

running lights can't be kept on (but i'm sure someone will hack it soon )
i dont like tuning box's as they are just "fooling" the engine half the time, we have looked into mapping ours (a lot of our other petrol cars have been mapped) and have found a mapper we will be happy with because being a hdi it should go on a roalling road after to fine tune the map (if it gives too much smoke then they mod the maps turbo pressure and other odds to cure it) a tuning box may just give loads of smoke as for insurance yes you should inform them BUT as with the garage also all it shows is some perameters out and how they got out is anyones guess so they re-load software to clear it (a mapper usualy loads a map again free or little cost) hope this helps |

Hello Folks,
My wife and I have recently ordered a DS3 style 1.6Hdi 90bhp in Thorium Grey with carmen red roof, mirrors and wheels, finishing it off we have amarante red leather seats. Citroen emailed me last week to confirm the car has now left the factory and is en route to the dealer. Does anyone know how long it will take, I understand its coming from France (its made there so i`m told although i thought it might have been assembled somewhere like Slovakia?) I`ll post some pics once it arrives and looking forward to the forum.. cheers Cliff |

I don't normally join car or motorcycle owners groups but I am making an exception. Very unhappy DS3 dsport 150bhp owner - nearly the worst car I have ever owned! bought it new from Citroen Hatfield whose dictionary does not have the page that describes customer service.

Hi Folks, 4weeks now with my 110 hdi dsport diesel ds3 white with black roof! Car is great but got a prob! Now & then even on short trips 2 miles radiator fan cuts in & will not stop as if over heating & drop in power, no warning in the car temp normal no warning on display, but you can smell outside car as if over heating! Gotto take it back next week to dealer for them to check it out! Has anybody had same prob?
Cheers, Jim |
